Who or what is Thom Heatly?
Background to the story
Thom Heatly is a singer and a songwriter - He uses elements of cityfolk and pop to tell us stories. The core of music is about making relationships in the todays world. An individual picture, music that is narrative, timeless and elegant at the same time.
CityFolk is the genre for my music
I`ve been taking elements from pop, folk and even from rockmusic. I just listen The Beatles, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd and soul music a lot when I was younger! For me, writing is a long process - I takes time and sometimes you hope that you would have more of that.
Been writing music for few years now. I had feeling earlier that I don`t have anything to say. The thought of that pressured my music life past years. But something clicked when I took more active role in a issue. I felt it was natural to write and create music, to press my thoughts and feelings through with music(all thought I´m not sure if performing live is my thing at all). It´s sensitive, the process I mean. And to get a feeling - it can come from where ever.
It`s about moments in life, sometimes tiny feelings that passes you by in no time. Things that are present only in that moment - reflection. So songs are very personal for me, but the situations are from everyday life and something one can relate to, i hope.
