Mr.Asa is repairing Thom`s old amplifier from 50`s.

Here`s Mr.Asa fixing old Helvar Radio amplifier of mine. He got it fixed in no time! I´ve got this beautiful old amplifier from 50`s. Problem was that it was last time used in 70`s. Testing was also hard `cause of old connectors-one´s they used in old radios. And old radio was this too - Helvar Radio and build in finland. We use to have this amp at my home when I was little - turntable was connected to it. Montgomery Brothers,Grant Green,Clifford Brown,Bill Haley and even Charles Mingus was on the menu. It was sweet. Okay, I´ve got a an amp, next we need a speaker for that..and then we are off to some live gigs!. Luckily I know one guy who could help me and my band. He`s specialized in making guitar`s, amp`s and speakers. Stay tune for that!

yes, have been playing it for the last three months steady on sundays at church. Celestions will have the more european sound...jensens tend to be more fendery. Eminence is not bad either. If the amp is a 60 watter (rsm) then you will need to go 100 plus watts on the speaker for peak power. I like celestions myself. Eminence has a couple that are britishy. Jensen has come back over the last few years and is getting good reviews. Will look around and see what is offered and tell you later what I think. I think it depends on what kind of sound you want. Amp sounds good though...i like it.

Looks very nice indeed! Have you tryed this at gigs? Love the structure/material, beautifully built-up. What kind of a speaker do you recommend to my 50`s amp? Should be 8 ohms (amp is 60watter) and I was thinking about celestion or jensen vintage..? Any suggestions? /Thom
